Who cares? I've been back from Viet Nam for a month and have not posted.
High school sports are over, but I had something interesting happen to me as the seasons wound down.
The next week, I was shooting at the same school, only I was at a baseball game. Between innings, the athletic director approached me. Nice guy - I've talked to him before and he has always been pleasant to me.
"Hi Doug"
"How you doing, Coach?"
"How many photos did you take last week at the softball game"
I answered him but wondered where the conversation was going. When he asked me if I was the one who picked the photos for the newspaper, I chuckled and told him that the editor did that - I'm simply the picture taker.
"Why Coach? What's the matter."
"The picture made our player look like she was givng a cheap shot to the other team."
The next inning of baseball began, I ended the conversation and went back to shooting baseball - and came up with this photo. This time it was the home team - the coach's team - taking the hit.
Hmmmm - cheap shot, or just the way the game is played?
(I know you can't see these photos very well, so click on them to see a larger version.)

During the softball playoffs, I shot this photo.
Nice hard-nosed play here, eh? Block the plate and let the runner try to steam roller you.
