Our group has 7 members. We are responsible for reception food. We like cooking and discovering something new about American food. All of us are grateful to take charge of this duty.
Can you please tell us what kinds of food are often made for the reception?
(If you comment, please describe what kinds of ingredients are necessary)
Some weddings are very informal and will simply have cake and punch and mints. Some will have a variety of foods on a buffet, others will be very elaborate and have full sit-down meals, of course, followed by both the brides cake and the grooms cake.

About the Wedding Cake:
Traditional wedding cakes in America are made with a recipe for white cake, usually has more than one layer, and is covered with white frosting (also called icing), and then decorated with the colors the bride has chosen for her whole wedding. The decoration (either with frosting or real flowers or fruit) should be similar to the other decorations, flowers, and dresses of the wedding. This sounds like fun - what you're doing!
What kind of food we eat depends on the kind of reception and what time of the year and what time of the day. Let's say you will have a bridal shower on Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm. You would serve "finger food". Food you could easily eat with your fingers, yet you will still need to provide plates, napkins and utensils. I'll find some recipes and email them to you. Something like chicken salad, served with croissant. May be a light salad. Fruit salads are also popular. For drinks, you will serve some kind of fruity punch with ice cream float or mimosa - that's orange juice mix with champagne. And of course dessert, a cake decorated for the occasion or some petit fours. I hope you will take pictures so I can see your bridal shower! :)

I am coming to Vietnam in Dec and I run one day work shops on how to become A wedding Planner and start your own business, I think this would be good for Vietnam! I am in Sydney and run these courses all over the world
