This trip was way too short. Way too short.
We're on our way back to America - on that long, interminable 36 hours (or so) of travel time. I had little time for photography, but we were able to do what we wanted to do - see friends and maintain relationships.
I thought I would leave you with this shot taken by my friend Cu as we took photos of the flood in Hue. Notice I had to hang on to a chain to keep from being dragged down by the very strong current Both Cu and I are old enough to know better than to wander around in deep flood waters, and both are grateful we are still crazy enough to do it anyway.

Welcome back! Glad the trip was fun, if waterlogged. These pix are out of this world--nature's power is incredible.
And I'm still waiting for my chance to go to Vietnam. It hasn't yet made itself apparent (want to go for a couple weeks first, feel things out), but I think I will eventually go, and I really look forward to it. Thanks for introducing so many of us to this beautiful and misunderstood country.

Anybody who wants to go to Viet Nam is welcome to come with Think About the Children(www.ThinkAboutTheChildren.com). We usually go twice a year. This December a group of 17, mostly college students, will go to work with the poor villagers near Hue.
