At last – she’s home.
C arrived back home today. She’s spent the past seven weeks with her parents. While her elderly and frail father had surgery for colon cancer, she was there for her deaf mother too. To make things tougher, her oldest brother had a liver transplant last week. Dad has been in ICU for three weeks, but seems to be rallying at last. Brother is doing fine.
And I am so proud of her. She has shouldered the responsibility of caring for a truculent and ill-tempered father while functioning in a dysfunctional family. She is a tough woman. Guess that one of the reasons I married her.
You will notice some changes in the blog. For one thing, I have already removed the email link, and I will soon be getting rid of the categories. There will be some other changes too. Why? It has to do with going to Viet Nam.
Viet Nam has lots of westerners running around. The government is long past trying to keep them out of the country. In my three visits. I have never had the least bit of problem - unless you consider the last minute change to my official itinerary of April 2003 when I was not taken into the Central Highlands as planned.
